This WebQuest is great for a variety of uses in the science classroom.  This was designed to introduce a unit on endocrinology and to get students interested in how the body/endocrine system works.  This would work for 9-12 graders.  You could use this in a specialized class such as AP Biology or Anatomy/physiology, or Freshman Biology.  This could be part of an environmental science or anatomy unit .  This would work for teaching logic and also to teach critical thinking.  This is an eye-opening experience for the non-perceptive.  It can teach how to look at scenarios in more than one way and that not everything is always as it seems.  It helps students become more detail oriented.  This lesson could be changed and added to with other diseases or in conjunction with other webquests.

This is designed to be completed in 2 class periods.  Students work on webquest for a full day and then part of another.  Summary and recommendations would fill up the rest of the class period on day 2.
